7 Fast Cars The Audi RS Q3 'Performance' Can Beat To 62mph
Out of the wide range of RS machines from Audi, the RS Q3 is one we’re less keen on. It’s undeniably fast however, and now thanks to the ‘performance’ version, it’s faster than ever.
Yours for a rather considerable £49,175, the performance features - as well as some exterior tweaks and a bit of extra equipment - a 27bhp and 11lb ft boost over the standard model. This has slashed four tenths off the 0-62mph time to bring the figure down to 4.4 seconds, while the top speed is 167mph.
That 4.4 second figure got us thinking: what cars can this chubby-looking crossover now beat to 62mph? Here are a few that come to mind…

Yeah, but unfortunately in the bad way I think. After 200k km the engine will be in such condition that full rebuild won’t be possible. It’s a bit sad that nowadays engines that are made are e.g. 1.0 with turbo instead of 1.6 NA.
but can it beat an aston martin with an unlimited mileage bumper-to bumper warranty?

The engine is a monster, without forging I think the engines tune very easily to 500bhp! Plus the noise :-)
But at the end of the day, I’d rather have any of those than the q3.

You are missing the fact that the old cars’ 0-60 time is measured with old tech tires.
Mostly based on gearboxes, not tires though. Gear ratios and modern traction control have a lot more to do with 0-100KM/h times than tires do. And let’s not forget, having 2 extra gear ratios also means that you can make the diffs have a different final drive as well. Shorter gearing on the diff means more torque at the wheels, and a faster acceleration.
My only reaction to this post: What have they done to that poor Countach?! Who put some sort of plastic toilet piping on the front of that car?
This is what had to be done in order to pass the 5 mph bumper test for US safety regulations. Looks ugly but eh, you could always swap for an euro spec bumper.
This sh*t is called American bumber, due to the extremely clever safety regulation… American done that on some old Porsche too
and a motorcycle costing a tenth of the RS Q3 can beat them all :)
