Is the car community dying or do they face death in the face of electric and autonomous vehicles?

Give opinion…I think there is a good chance it could go either way, but I can’t do anything to change it

The automotive industry is evolving to serve the people who needs a car, but don’t want to drive necessaryly

Car guys don’t use to buy new cars

I welcome electric and self driving cars. I think it will create more room for true unwatered Down enthusiasts vehicles.
I can envision a future where basic commuter vehicles are sold by companies that just do that. And weekend enthusiast vehicles are produced and sold separately. Allowing each to be built from the ground up to be really good at their thing.

I think enthusiast cars will always exist. In the far future the car will probably be replaced with something else (like a flying pod system) for merely getting from A to B, so the only reason people will have to buy a car is because they enjoy driving. They probably won’t be able to do it everywhere but where they can do it, it will basically only be enthusiasts on the roads.

Car community is killing itself out of ignorance. There is plenty of room for electric and vehicle autonomy in the enthusiasts community, how we enjoy cars might change as vehicles evolve. Cars will always be modifiable, designs will always vary and people will have different tastes. The idea that the automotive enthusiasts community will end because engines no longer make the preferred noises is ridiculous.

I think its more of a problem with autonomous cars because of the people that think humans should stay off the road permenantly instead of having autonomous cars that you can still drive, they would rather have cars with no possible human input. I support technology as a means, not an end.
