2000 Hyundai Accent 1.3i LS

After owning the Renault Twingo for a longer period then I normally own a car, I was ready for something else. I came across this advertisement on Facebook in which a mid-aged women wanted to trade her Hyundai Accent for a Twingo because she always owned one and could get used to this korean bucket.
My mom owns this same model and it was the car I drove the most when I got my driverslicene. Moneywise it was an upgrade and it was from the era were Hyundai started to up their game.

The car was low milage 121k km and featured all the options except for a sunroof and the powerwindows. But, the car was dirty. The previous owner had 3 big dogs and it showed on the inside. So the first thing I did was to rip out the interior and started cleaning like there was no tomorrow.

With al the stains out and not smelling like dead dog anymore I started to focus on some mechanical issues. The car had a misfire around 2-3k ish. The gap from the factory is way to large (1.3mm) so I had to gap it down to 0.85mm. but the problem wasnt completly gone yet. After replacing the sparkplug wires and an oilchange the thing ran as a champ.

But what is life without mods? Altough the modding scene isn’t big for this model I managed to find some loweringsprings from FK sports in Germany. Lucky for me the item was on sale for €25,- Ebay eat your heart out xD

But even with a 35-40mm drop the car was still high altough it handles alot better. I felt like I wanted something sportier so I’ve put the car up for sale and sold it to a young mother.
