Well, at least I now know the roof is watertight... now the question is; "for how long?". - Mazda MX-5 (Mk1 / Mk2) Forum

For those who don’t live near Rotterdam; today was a cod red storm, which… in essence… is a small hurricane. Trees were tilted at 15°, leaves were ripped off the branches, and hail stones the size of marbles came falling out of the sky. And my little roadster was in the midst of it all… with the passenger side window cracked open a centimetre.
At that time I was repositioning the used cars, I raced to my car, got in (the only way to get more soaked than I was, would be by taking a shower with my clothes on), closed the window and drove to the workshop and parked inside. I didn’t rip it because I couldn’t see sh*t through the windshield, and the parking lot was a bit tightly packed. Amazingly, through out the ~90 seconds it took me to park it in the workshop, not a drop entered the car. All while there are small rips in the soft-top.
So, why this post? Well… firstly; this is the worst storm I’ve ever witnessed. Secondly, this was the scariest storm I’ve ever been in, simply because I was actually moving from one place to another, and back… completely blind. Lastly, I had to vent. I am now convinced I need a hard-top.
