2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition
The FJ Cruiser is the perfect imperfect vehicle. Just like a stick shift, if forces you to pay more attention to your surroundings, only because it has horrible blind spots. The tech-barren, knob filled console really minimizes distractions as well. The rubberized and plastic interior means you don’t have to worry much about dirt or sand.
The engine - although an old design - has plenty of power. I never find myself asking for more from it.
On the road, it handles better than a Wrangler, though it doesn’t have the same bouncy, and playful nature as one. That has to be because of the independent front suspension. Overall, the FJ feels more planted and tank-like. One could even describe it as chunky. The steering feel is heavier and it doesn’t feel as skiddish over bumps or in the wet.
Factory spec (aside from the kayak of course).
