1.6 vs 1.8

I have been looking for Miatas but primarily 1.8s. I’ve noticed that I can get a lot cleaner (low miles, nice paint, etc) 90-93 1.6l for a lot cheaper than worse condition 1.8l. Is a 1.8 really worth the extra cost over better condition 1.6?

Also has additional bracing, Airbags/ABS, easier to tune and more torque.
So I’d spend the extra for a 1.8

The 1.8 is heavier so the extra power isn’t really all that

But by like 20-30kg. You’ll also get better torque.

Both great cars. 200 millilitres won’t add anything super significant. But the better car

I’ve had a 1.8 and 1.6 115bhp mk1, and I do prefer the 1.6 because you can just rev and zoom off everywhere I go lol

I’ve driven a 1.6 and a 1.8, ended up buying a 1.8.
Although I’ve heard 1.6 handles boost better than an na8

If he has no money for a 1.8 I very much doubt he’ll boost it…
