Actually you’re missing the big picture. The amount of hate from R35 fanboys towards any car ever, especially ones that are superior to it is beyond measure.

Not a fanboy though, but, the Nissan GT-R is some of the greatest cars ever made. The Nissan GT-R can made to 0-100 km/h in less than 3 seconds even it has a nearly 1,800 kg weight. It has made lap records in the Nurburgring. And I don’t really think the GT-R drives itself. But, it’s the fanboys made us hate it. Stop the fanboyism. Learn. Think. That’s it.
I do hate the r35 but not for these reasons , its a Marvel of engineering and I would love to sit with the designers and understand there process. I find the stock one boring to look at , however a few visual tweeks can make them stand out.
It set awesome lap times (including nurburg) bit so did the new civic type R and we all know how much shtick they get.

Not at all
It doesn’t seem that much ironic in the aesthetic part where you actually put heavily modified ones being quite differently looking than the stock ones.
I wouldn’t say I hate it, and I have respect for the car, and can see why people like them, but I just don’t like them, great car, just not my thing, though I still break my neck when one drives past, which is fairly common actually, I see them just as much as I see R34 GTR’s
