10 Awesome Rides Added To The Car Throttle Garage In September

September has come to an end, which means two things: there's a pumpkin spice version of pretty much everything, and we've picked out 10 of the best rides added into the Car Throttle Garage last month
10 Awesome Rides Added To The Car Throttle Garage In September

If you’re a regular follower of Car Throttle, you’ll know that we take a bit of time at the beginning of each month to highlight some of the coolest vehicles owned by our CTzens. Well, it’s that time again.

In fairness to the Car Throttle community, there are a lot of cool garage additions every day. So, think of the following list as a teaser of sorts - a small sample of some of the most interesting vehicles…in the world.

Here at Car Throttle, it’s no secret that we like a good Evo. And that’s exactly what CTzen Carter Smyth has - a nice, clean Lancer Evolution IV GSR. It’s just as aggressive-looking now as it was in 1996, but that hasn’t stopped Carter from using this monster as a daily driver.

Of course, we’re just bugging CTzen Drift Doge about the fact that his R33 Skyline GTS-T isn’t a GT-R. The truth is, this car is even better. With a Nismo 400R body kit, a beautiful Twizzler red paint job, and 420whp from a heavily-tuned RB25DET NEO, this GTS-T is one of the most thorough R33 builds that we’ve ever come across in the Car Throttle Garage. No GT-R? No problem.

Another tuned JDM legend pushing over 400whp, this FD (owned by CTzen Bryan Perez) is another great example of what made the 90s such a great time for Japanese sportscars. Fortunately, for all the FD purists on the Internet, Bryan has resisted the temptation to LS-swap his RX-7. Instead, he’s opted for a single-turbo conversion kit to make his Mazda launch like it just sat on a hot stove with a bare bottom.

Every now and again, we see things on Car Throttle that we never even imagined people would build. Case in point: CTzen Joel Artursson’s tuned Saab 9-3. You see, Saabs aren’t particularly well-known as tuner cars. But we don’t think that anyone told Joel this.

Normally, at this point, we’d start listing off some of the mods that the owner has done to their car, but Joel’s done way too much for us to list in such a short article. So we’ll just jump to the magic number: 700 horsepower at the crank. From a Saab. Yeah, we like this thing.

Obviously, this isn’t a car, but it’s way too cool to leave off the list. Harley-Davidsons have a reputation for being some of the most badass road bikes ever made. Think of those huge street gliders and choppers like you’d see inEasy Rider, Sons of Anarchy, and Harley-Davidson and the Marlboro Man.

Yet, back in the 1970s, the Italian Harley-Davidson subsidy Aermacchi actually made a few Harley-Davidson branded dirt bikes, too. That’s exactly what CTzen Mickey Mouse has in his stable, and it’s definitely one of the more off-the-wall bikes that we’ve ever seen. It’s also quite rare, too - just 1000 of these MX 250s were ever produced.

Admit it - you’ve probably been at least slightly curious as to what a Volvo pickup truck would look like. After all, the Swedish company does make some of the world’s lorries, so a light truck would seem like a piece of cake, right? Well, wonder no more.

CTzen Edvin Eriksson’s Volvo 780 truckster looks exactly like a pickup truck from the depths of Volvo stylist Jan Wilsgaard’s most twisted fantasies. It looks like a Volvo with the back end cut off by a Sawzall. And we love it.

Another awesome pickup truck, except this one was made on purpose from the factory. Usually, most people associate the older Ford F-Series models with the North American market. However, in the 1960s, there was a special version that was sold for the Brazilian market, and it’s quite a bit different than the American version. This example, owned by CTzen Ol’ Classics Fanatic, is in showroom condition, and is one cool little piece of (South) ‘Murica.

Special-edition Subaru Impreza WRX STIs are always cool to see here on Car Throttle. CTzen Drew Kelly has one of Subaru’s most recent special edition versions of the popular road/rally car: the Hikari edition. How can you tell? The Hyper Blue paint job and black BBS wheels immediately identify this STi as a Hikari. They also make it look awesome. And, because it’s an STi, it’s also really, really fast. Safe to say, then, that this is one really sought-after Scooby.

Short of a Ford Country Squire wagon with exterior wood trim and a 460 cubic inch V8, estate cars don’t get any more ‘Murican than this. CTzen Randall Dieck has one of the most awesome Cadillacs ever made in the CTS-V Sport Wagon. With a six-speed manual gearbox, magnetorheological dampers like you get in a Lamborghini Gallardo, and a detuned version of the supercharged 6.2-litre V8 from the Corvette ZR1, this Cadillac is a far cry from the pink Series 60 that Elvis Presley gave his momma.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the awesome set of wheels owned by CTzen IpanemaRS3. Not surprisingly, it’s an Audi RS3. And it’s an especially pretty one in Ipanema Brown. Feast your eyes on this masterpiece.

Yet to upload your own car to the CT Garage? Head over there now and rectify the situation!

Actually Saab engines are quite well-known for being good tuners.
The B204/B234 more specifically - the later B2x6 are a bit weaker(weaker rods), but still good(altho problems with oil sludge)

It does indeed! Bit of a shame that it’s registered as a tractor and will only do about 30 km/h (assuming it’s not tinkered with)

To be honest all these cars are great. I admit I had a small arrogance over whether my new car would make it on this list for september but one thing I gotta realize, old cars are SO much more of an art than new ones.

Like even in the 2000’s there are better cars than mine admittedly.

Give yourself some credit though, a cheap RWD sedan is a treasure in this day and age!

His AMG GT-R is not around 20 years old and isn’t a manual.

Therefore it didn’t make the list
