10 Awesome Rides Added To The Car Throttle Garage In July

The end of July has come, which means it’s time for us to take a look back at some of the new cars in the Car Throttle Garage! You never know what you’re going to find, but you’ll probably come across something awesome. And our followers agree, which is why we’ve again picked out 10 of our favourite additions from last month!

No, this picture wasn’t taken in 1987. This FC RX-7 GXL edition, owned by CTzen Courtney Paradise, really turns back the clock. With just 71,000 miles on the clock, this classic Mazda almost looks better now than it did 30 years ago. Keep looking after this beauty, Courtney!

It’s amazing what a just a little bit of wheel paint can do for a car’s appearance. CTzen Dylan V’s lightly-modified Hyundai Genesis Coupe is proof that you don’t always have to spend big bucks to make a big improvement on your car’s aesthetic. Yet, Dylan says he’s got some plans to make it look even sharper in the future. If those teal blue wheels are any reflection of his taste in design mods, we can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s finished!

You are looking at the smiling face of someone who’s just bought a classic car. This is CTzen Kieran T, and this is his very own 1972 Datsun 240Z. Obviously, we won’t hesitate to join Kieran in giving his ride the thumbs-up. Great car!

It’s a Ferrari that even Ferrari calls “Speciale”. That should pretty much sum up just how awesome this car is. On the shortlist among the greatest Ferraris of all time, this yellow 458 is a gorgeous piece of eye candy straight out of Maranello. Lee K from the Supercar Advocates YouTube channel has the absolute privilege to call this otherworldly machine his own. We might be slightly jealous.

It’s hard to believe, but the Chevrolet Camaro turned 50 years old this year! And CTzen Tom Castello is obviously very proud of this fact, having purchased himself this beautiful 50th Anniversary commemorative edition of the legendary Camaro SS. Unlike most anniversary collectibles, however, this is more than just a mantelpiece decoration for Tom, who’s already made some of his own upgrades to the already clean and mean machine. We approve!

It’s the Last of the Mohicans. Yet, as bittersweet as it is, the Final Edition reminds us all about what the Lancer Evolution one of history’s greatest cars. CTzen Dewey is the proud owner of this goodbye letter to the Ralliart faithful. An epitaph to an icon of an entire generation of petrolheads. For that, we salute you.

The Lexus SC 430 was a pretty homely looking thing that never really stimulated much interest in the petrolhead community. It looked like something that one of the characters from My Little Pony might drive to an expensive country club. However, the mad geniuses at SCL Performance have pretty much cured this SC 430 of its vanilla aesthetic. In fact, at a quick glance, you might mistake this thing for a Porsche Boxster. Big up to SCL Performance for making “Reload” look, at last, like it’s worthy of the 3UZ V8 that lies under the hood.

We’re no strangers to NA Miatas here at Car Throttle, but CTzen Linus Kvist’s first-gen MX-5 still manages to grab our attention. Between the body kit, the coils, the BBS rims and the luscious pearl red paint, this Miata has enough sheer beauty to make Phil’s headlights pop up. As an NA owner myself, there’s only one word I can use to describe this car: goals.

CTzen Ken Rentschler has a pretty diverse assortment of cool cars in his Garage. But the one that stands out the most, by far, is his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. With a big ol’ 396 cubic inch V8 under the hood and those gorgeous blue hood stripes, it’s pretty obvious that this thing’s a fully-fledged ‘Murican muscle car. It brings back fond memories of burning rubber and smelling unburnt gasoline in my clothes for the rest of the day. Good times.

Last, but definitely not least, we have a very special Mercedes-Benz CLS belonging to CTzen BecauseV8. This swoopy 4-door coupe might have originally been marketed to the style-conscious niche, but the 600 bhp on tap leaves no doubt about its intended purpose. Even though it’s 10 years old, it can run with the best in its class of 2017 on the tarmac. It’s a properly evil-looking machine, and one we like very much.

That moment when RX-7 gets more upvotes than a 458 Speciale. But hey I have a Punto in my garage so who asks me

supercars are marketed incorrectly. car enthusiasts prefer older cars which are easier to work on, cheaper, less reliable, sentimental which just leaves newer sports or supercars to be purchased by wealthy business men or sheiks.

Why did the 458 get fewer upvotes than other cars?

Honestly I would bet that’s because less people believe the guy owns it when they just look over the post.

Because it’s new. A well maintained 20+year sportscar gets more attention from petrolheads than a supercar which just rolled out of the factory.

These need to be done more often, and the Top 10 Comments sh*t would be something I’d rather see less often.
