10 Awesome Rides Added To The Car Throttle Garage In August

Here at Car Throttle, we pride ourselves on being the number one online community for car enthusiasts. The Car Throttle Garage is the place to go if you want to connect with owners of some of the coolest cars in the world, and last month there were some amazing additions!

Among other things, David is a racing driver, which comes as no surprise when you consider the new set of wheels he’s just bought. This 2015 Lotus Elise S-Cup is 220bhp is a potent little thing, and one of only a handful of cars that can pull off lime green. We love it!

If you ask me, the Mk3 Supra just doesn’t get enough love. Any fans of Gran Turismo 2 will tell you that this is one of the best first cars that you can buy. This particular 1987 model, owned by CTzen Billy, has had quite a lot of work done to it; including a twin-turbo 1JZ-GTE VVT-i engine swap. This means that it’s pretty fast. It also has pop-up headlights. Of course, this means that we at Car Throttle like it a lot.

Our third pick is another Lotus, and another car with pop-up headlights. This 1994 Esprit, owned by CTzen Charlie Douglass, is one of the greatest Lotus models ever built. This lightweight, mid-engined sports car doesn’t sit around Charlie’s garage collecting dust, however. As you can see, he likes to use it in its natural habitat - the track. Respect.

There are a lot of modded Imprezas out there, but few are as thoroughly rebuilt as this one. There’s almost nothing OEM on CTzen Dante Alexander’s 2009 WRX STi, and we can safely assume that it couldn’t launch any faster unless you stuck a JATO rocket on it. It cleans up pretty nicely, too. Great build, Dante!

Admit it, you probably had a bit of a chuckle when you first saw this car. Not only is it an Opel Corsa with the prestigious Gulf racing colours, but it’s well off the track and on two wheels.

However, CTzen VekaRX’s little hot box is for more than just laughs. It’s a properly prepared car meant to take the podium on the rallycross track. It’s got quite a pedigree too, with three straight rallycross championships from 2014 to 2016, this Corsa has achieved a lot more than most cars out there. It’s something that VekaRX can definitely be proud of.

Aside from the fact that it - like David’s Elise - looks good in lime green, this Roush Stage 2 SN95 New Edge is possibly one of the meanest looking Mustangs we’ve seen in a while. Along with the paint job, CTzen Drew has put a huge list of modifications on the already tuned ‘Stang. If it’s anywhere near as fast as it looks, we bet it would be gone in much less than 60 seconds.

Doug DeMuro isn’t the only car fan to recently purchase a really fast estate car. CTzen Marco Lucca has just bagged himself a 2017 Audi RS6 Avant, and we love it. With well over 500bhp, blacked-out everything and diamond-cut wheels on low-pro tyres, this is no loser cruiser. If the Griswolds from National Lampoon’s Family Vacation had this as the family wagon, they would have easily made it to Walley World on time.

CTzen Mike Katsaras’ car needs no introduction. It’s a replica of Takumi Fujiwara’s famous Corolla AE86 from the legendary anime Initial D. In other words, it’s a pretty good car, and it will deliver tofu faster than anything else on the road.

Eurobeat intensifies

When longtime Car Throttle moderator (and friend of the site) Mr.PurpleV12 gets started on a project, you never know what he’s going to come up with. Lately, he’s decided to get to work on doing something with this 1979 Mercedes-Benz 240D. But it will need a lot of work, as it happens to have a fair bit of rust to deal with.

It does run and drive, however, which means it’s a tough old Merc. Stay tuned, because the end result of this rust-o-ration will surely be interesting…

To cap off our top-10 list, we have another work in progress. However, you’d be hard-pressed to tell that CTzen Smajjka isn’t finished working on it, as it’s already a stunning build. Even though it looks like he’s added everything but the kitchen sink to this S13, Smajjka says he plans to pull out the CA18DET and replace it with a GM LS3 V8. Those poor back tyres…
