10 Awesome Cars Added To The Car Throttle Garage In February

Our monthly round-up of the Car Throttle Garage continues with these 10 awesome additions!

Back in its day, the Datsun 510 was the ultimate economy car. Today, you can buy a Honda Civic, but there’s something about the vintage of an old Datsun that you can’t replicate with a modern car. And that’s especially true of CTzen Fad Hill’s 1969 Bluebird, which is in amazing shape for something that’s almost 50 years old. It might be a labour of love, according to Fad Hill, but one that we’re sure will be more than worth it.

It’s no secret that we like Subarus here at Car Throttle. CTzen John-Martin has added his GC8 Impreza WRX (sold as the GT in Europe) to the garage last month, and it’s one of the more unique project cars that we’ve seen on this site. Although the wide arches are reminiscent of a stanced build, John-Martin has left the ride height stock for all-season usability. And he’s provided pictures of his Subaru covered in dirt and snow to prove that it’s no garage queen.

The Raptor is a pretty hardcore pickup truck, but the folks at Roush Performance (and CTzen Cameron, for that matter) must have thought it was a little on the soft side. So they went to the trouble of upgrading the Raptor’s already plush suspension, making the 510bhp Roush Raptor one of the most badass vehicles on the planet.

The mad geniuses at SCL Performance are no strangers to making wild body kits, but this customised Maserati Quattroporte takes things to another level. With flowing side strakes and a front end inspired by the current Quattroporte GTS, the ‘Cerrera’ kit gives the Maserati four door an aggressive edge that you might not expect from a Quattroporte.

OK, so it’s technically not a Skyline GT-R. But that’s the best way to describe the Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech owned by CTzen The_queenslander. With the same RB26DETT and manual gearbox as in the R33, the Stagea 260RS is a properly fast car. And it holds about as much cargo as a shipping container.

Before The Fast and the Furious, the ultimate petrolhead movie wasBullitt. And the star of the show (other than Steve McQueen, of course), was a dark green 1968 Ford Mustang GT that quickly became one of the most iconic cars in Hollywood. CTzen owenmclaren uploaded this Bullitt-inspired dream machine to the Garage for his grandfather, who rebuilt it and kept it in such good shape.

When Lotus needed to update the Elise to meet European safety standards, they looked to General Motors for some much-needed cash. In return, Lotus agreed to make a sportscar based on the new Elise for GM. The result: the Opel Speedster, which was fitted with GM’s 2.2-litre Ecotec four-cylinder engine. This Speedster, owned by CTzen Simon Ver Elst, is an immaculate example, with less than 10,000 miles on the clock!

Towards the end of its original production run, the Fiat 124 Spider was marketed by the firm that designed it - Pininfarina. CTzen Andre’s Spider Europa is in pretty amazing condition for a 35-year-old Italian car, and it looks just as pretty as it did in 1984.

CTzen Jack McGorry has uploaded his S60 R, which was kinda/sorta Volvo’s answer to the BMW M3 and Audi S4 back in the early 2000s. Although the S60 R was never quite as fast as the German sports saloons, its 300bhp engine five-cylinder engine made it quite a bit more fun than the average Volvo. But the coolest part of the S60 R is the Atacama leather-trimmed interior, don’t you think?

Finally, we have an addition from our very own Matt Kimberley. He’s just bought a Skoda Octavia Estate, which wouldn’t normally cause a petrolhead to bat an eye. But that’s part of what makes this car so cool. Because it’s the vRS model, it has the drivetrain from the MkV Golf GTI, which makes it good for just under 200bhp. It’s mix of performance and subtly makes it an amazing sleeper car.

Have a cool car you want to show off? Don’t forget to upload it to the CT Garage!

Maybe try navigator or use a computer when you can. I haven’t tried navigator (on phone) but it definitely works better on PC

Great stuff. But I don’t think any of the F&F movies deserve to be mentioned on the same lines as Bullitt. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.
