To keep the GT-R ahead of the game, Nissan don't just give their supercar a midlife face lift. The car is updated with more technology and power every year. From the beginning the chief engineer or 'father' of the GT-R project, Kazutoshi Mizuno said to Auto Express, 'From the very outset the plan with the GT-R was to update it every year and keep improving it. The GT-R as you see it now still has four years left to go.' So what have they done to it for 2012? Firstly, they've made changes to the 3.8L twin-turbo V6, again. More horses have been squeezed into the engine (20 to be specific) meaning a total power output of 543hp and torque is up as well from

Iranian Designs Future Porsche Supercar

Porsche's styling on controversial vehicles like the Cayenne and Panamera has been loved by some, hated by others. Other than the 911, I'm not a fan of the recent turn in design direction that Porsche has taken. The Carrera GT to me was an example of an excellent supercar design that should have paved the way for future Porsches. Let's see what Iranian designer Emil Baddal's future Porsche supercar looks like. I like it when creative people step into offer their own interpretations of a design, like we saw recently with the Audi R7 Rendering. For a car in the supercar genre, it certainly is very different. Proportions wise and design wise it's unlike anything we have ever seen, while still remaining unmistakably Porsche in

2006 Ford GT Road Test

Test Vehicle: 2006 Ford GT 5.4L V8 with 6-speed Manual Gearbox I was born in the (cough) mid to late 1960's, and this car was originally conceived around about the same time. The original was called the GT40 because it was 40 inches tall. This new one is a full 5% taller... Most exotic cars are low to the ground. This one is almost wing like. I didn't think I was going to fit to be honest. I can't imagine losing that extra 5%. The design itself hasn't changed too much other than a little bit of modernizing from the Ford design team. The old GT40 was iconic and this one really sets the right tone from the start, from the white

Lamborghini Doesn’t See Recovery Until 2011; Sales Down 30%

Most people are pretty confident that the U.S market and global economy will begin to finally rebound and show some signs of life at the end of this year. Economists, auto makers, even the U.S government are forecasting that. Not that their record has been particularly good. But, I digress.

Unlike the others though, Lamborghini is taking a much more pessimistic viewpoint. At an company event in Paris today, Lamborghini chief executive Stephan Winkelmann commented on sales for the year and his view for the future.

After coming off a record year 2008 for both sales and profits, it looks like the economic situation is finally catching up to Lamborghini. Sales for 2009 so far are down by 30%. Even at a 40% overall sales decline for the year, Winkelmann expects

Muska Russian Supercar Rendering

I always love posting about the latest designs and renderings from out there in the automotive world. Especially ones that are all-new, meant to show a completely different vehicle then we've seen before. One such designer is Krasnov Igor, a Russian designer. His latest creation is the Muska supercar. The Muska blends elements from a stealth jet fighter to create a modern supercar, kind of like Spyker does with it's designs, only they do them from a different era. Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll ever see a stealth-fighter inspired supercar Spyker? Maybe so. If Spyker needs some inspiration for one, it could do much worse then taking a long, hard look at the Muska. The Muska is nearly perfect in it's design and execution; something truly unique in

2008 Audi R8 Road Test

Test Vehicle: Audi R8 4.2L V8 with 6-speed R-Tronic Automated Manual Gearbox This car feels to me like its been around forever, and I don't know why that is.  Maybe every magazine extolling its virtues has overloaded my brain with it so much, that it just feels like it. This isn't the first time I've seen one in the paint, but it is still small.  Wow.  Its a great looking car from the front, and the back, but the side view looks awkward to me, in the same way that the Cayman looks awkward from the side.  I love the sideblades, and wish this one didn't have them the same colour as the rest of the car.  The LEDs around the headlights make a real statement and

Novitec Rosso TuLesto

Ah, the many companies looking to get into the high-end supercar market. Add a new one to the list, Novitec Rosso, a Ferrari tuning company based in Stetten, Germany. Look a bit familiar? That's because it is. As a Ferrari tuner, the TuLesto is based on the Ferrari F430. They didn't say as much but you can tell. However, the TuLesto is unlike anything else Novitec has ever done; the styling and bodywork have been heavily modified. The car was designed in celebration of the tuner's 20th anniversary. The TuLesto will be one of the most exclusive of exclusive vehicles. Based off a Ferrari, for only 11 of Novitec's customers. Germany meets Italy huh? Italian name and car with a German twist. Not bad! The rear has been been
