We've been hearing about it for a while now, and finally some more details are forthcoming on the Cosworth STI. While it saddens me that the latest Cosworth road car won't have a Ford badge on it, a Cosworth STI makes a lot of sense - a turbocharged, four wheel drive rally car are things both of the brands are well known for.  Up until now we've only seen a teaser shot of the rear badging (how exciting!) but yesterday a few more details leaked out on this most-awesome-of-scoobies, and it sounds like it's going to be a serious piece of kit. Good news (if you live in Japan): Subaru has exposed its successor to the Impreza S203 and S204 special performance versions. It's called the S205, it features a lot of new goodies and benefits from chassis, engine and styling upgrades. OK, so it's home market only, but we can dream, can't we? There's the WRX, then there's the WRX STI, and then there's this thing: the R205. It's called the top performance model of the entire WRX STI lineup, and Subaru says that the R205 (the "R" stands for "Road Sport") will make full use of expressly designed features and performance parts from the "WRX STI spec C" model. Subaru enthusiasts in the US market have been getting the short end of the stick for the better part of 2 decades. The WRX debuted in Japan in 1992, and as the Impreza GT in Europe in the same year.  Despite the generally undeniable American propensity towards things that go fast, it would be another 9 years (2001) before we even got a taste of WRX on these shores.  And while we've continued to get WRX's (look at that, Subaru, Americans DO want cars that can go fast and do corners!) and hot-rod STi's, we've sorta been left out on the whole special-edition thing.
