The 'Brains from Bradford' have done it again. Not content with the standard styling of the Range Rover Evoque which went into production in July of this year, A. Kahn Design have come up with their own take on the 3 or 5 door compact crossover SUV and boy does it look good. Famously designed with the help of British fashion icon, Victoria Beckham, the first thing noticeable on this fresh-faced Evoque is the fact that it has been lowered by 35mm, presumably to add to its sporty look. One of the best launches at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in my humble opinion was the unveiling that Land Rover put on for the extremely large crowd of journalists yesterday in Hall 5. Many images surfaced over the past few weeks of a concept vehicle designed to put the popular but dated Defender edition back into production and everyone finally managed to feast their eyes on real-life prototypes at the Show. Yesterday, the production Land Rover LRX was caught testing. Since last September, production of the LRX has been confirmed by Phil Popham, Land Rover’s managing director. The concept was introduced at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. Mind you, the LRX moniker hasn't been confirmed - Land Rover has yet to officially confirm that name. It is clearly the production version of the concept though. Yes, that is the LRX. Often manufacturers introduce good-looking concepts only to significantly water them down for production. There's nothing like a cool high-speed chase scene, is there? Often the most extreme are police chases. Unfortunately in those, there are real-life people in harms way and they often get hurt. Not so in this new video though! It was created by a new company called Mothership specializing in motion graphics. It looks pretty cool to us. What do you think? Check it out below. What is it with the high-end cars crashing this week? First the Bugatti Veyron crashing into a lake, next a Ferrari California into construction equipment and then a Aston Martin DB9 crashing into a tree. The Audi R8 has been pegged as a more affordable exotic, and while it might not be up there with Lamborghinis and Ferraris, it certainly is a desired car by enthusiasts. This  one is rare - the crash involves a red R8, a BMW 6-Series and a Range Rover on Newport Boulevard in Costa Mesa, California. Apparently the Audi R8 hit into the Range Rover and was hit from behind by the BMW 6-Series. The Range Rover involved in the incident wasn't photographed. Very bizarre to say the least! The Land Rover LRX Concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2008 has a lot of fans (I'm one of them). But as sometimes can be the case, the vehicles remain concept-only regardless. Thankfully that isn't the case this time, as Land Rover has made a production announcement about the LRX . “Feedback from our customer research (also) fully supports our belief that a production version of the LRX Concept would further raise the desirability of our brand and absolutely meet (their) expectations,” said Phil Popham, Land Rover's managing director. The British luxury automotive brands are on a roll lately, aren't they? Jaguar, Land Rover, Bentley, Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce - all luxury brands hailing from England. For that matter, MINI has done very well too, even though it's not a luxury brand like any of the ones mentioned. Now it's too bad none of these companies are under British ownership, but they have been designed and built in Britain so that has to count for something. Maybe someone will someday revive a more affordable, mainstream British brand. Well, I'm digressing quite a bit. Land Rover has been rolling out a lot of significant debuts at the New York International Auto Show, including significantly revised versions of the Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and the LR4 (renamed replacement for the LR3). The most significant is the line-topping Range Rover. The Land Rover Range Rover is oh-so-important to the company right now. Shockingly, the Range Rover's sales have been holding up the best in comparison to it's lesser siblings. That's an impressive feat and something I'm sure Land Rover is taking note of. I'm sure the margins are quite nice on this! The exterior design has been subtly updated, with more modern detailing the headlights and taillights, and a flatter, more aerodynamic front fascia. Range Rover's sporty intermediate model, the creatively named "Range Rover Sport," is getting a refresh for 2010.  The mid-size luxury SUV competitor was due for a refresh, and it comes back packing new technology and a lot more firepower.  Considering how tough the competition in this field is, Land Rover needs to bring their A-game - and the new Sport looks like A-game material to me. Most importantly, both engines available in the Sport have been upgraded.  The base engine jumps from a 300bhp 4.4L port-injected V8 to Jaguar's new 5.0L direct-injected V8, now with 375bhp.  The big news is the Sport Supercharged, whose engine goes from a 4.2L port-injected supercharged V8 to a 5.0L direct injected blown V8, now cranking out a brawny 510bhp and
