Cadillac Unveils Wild Ciel Concept

Ciel2

Cadillac has been making cars people under AARP admission age actually want for a few years now.  Being a legitimate BMW competitor is a big step for a company that once peddled wares to those tired of their Buicks.  The resurgence at GM is alive and well - 10 years ago, who would have thought that Cadillac of all brands would be selling a 556-horsepower, 6 speed manual sports wagon that can rip off 4.0 second 0-60 times? What they don't really have is a "halo" model.  An exorbitantly expensive top-of-the-line vehicle that's more concerned with "look what we can do!" than profit margins.  And while the Ciel concept (from the French word for "Sky"), which debuted today at Pebble Beach, might not be that

Lexus GS Leaks Out Ahead of Pebble Beach Debut

2011-08-16-2013-lexus-gs-350-awd-2

We've been hearing a lot about the new Lexus GS. That intense focus shows its importance to the Lexus brand, which is experiencing flagging sales. The media have already done their reviews of the car, and now the general public is going to get to weigh in with its thoughts. The previous generation, even during the height of Lexus sales, never was a big seller and it fared poorly in comparison tests. The launch is scheduled for the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance happening in Monterey, California this weekend. Thanks to some spy photographers, we get a look at the production GS a bit before then though. The GS caught testing without camouflage in China. It isn't as if we didn't have any idea as to

Lexus Confirms Launch of GS 350 At Pebble Beach

05-lexus-lf-gh-hybrid-concept

Despite some impressive, but largely isolated exceptions, being the IS-F and LFA supercar, Lexus has not paid attention to the performance sector. Given its long-running sales success, why should it have thought any otherwise? The truth is though, those looking for more fun in their vehicles include a lot of younger buyers, buyers Lexus needs to capture if it hopes to have a future. With a new generation of cars, Lexus is promising a change in approach. The GS mid-size sedan is our first look at a more engaging driving experience as well as a more defining styling language. We don't have to wait too long for it either. After some rumors, Lexus has officially confirmed the launch of the new GS 350 sedan

Official: 2011 Infiniti M

Infiniti's range-topping model, the M, has been in production since 2006. We've been hearing rumors and speculation about the M's (Nissan Fuga in Japan) replacement for a while now, and we finally have pictures and details to shed some light on this upcoming luxury-sports sedan. I personally am a big fan of the current M, and my road test of a well-equipped M45 Sport can be found here.  The M has always been a good middle ground in the mid-size luxury market - competing with cars like the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5-series, among others.  I found it to balance performance, comfort, refinement and gee-whiz technology quite well, with a feel of athleticism that's absent from many of it's competitors - and all for a (class-reasonable)

Jaguar XJ Pricing Announced

Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is almost here! I'm looking forward to a luxury and performance car-filled weekend with debuts from Bentley, Infiniti and Devon Motor Works. Also, Jaguar is set to make the first U.S showing of the XJ at the show. Ahead of this introduction, Jaguar has seen fit to release pricing for the super sedan. Until now, there hasn't been any official information on just how much this new car would cost. It has been pretty well known that Jaguar is planning to move upmarket to occupy more of the high-end space. Jaguar used to be at the highest echelons of motoring and they'd like to move in that direction again (as in, more X-Types). The has even been speculation about a high-end Bentley-rivaling sedan

Infiniti Releases M Teaser

Last month, news surfaced that Infiniti would be revealing it's next-generation Infiniti M sedan at this month's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. As you might know, the show is already playing host to a high-profile launch: the Bentley "Grand" replacement for the Arnage. Other cars making appearances will be Fisker's Karma, the SV Motor Cars Competizione and reportedly the new Jaguar XJ. Now, in typical fashion Infiniti has released a teaser image of what to expect. Not a whole lot to see, huh? Teasers don't often reveal much, but this one is perhaps less than usual. While I'm certain it's a more dramatic portrayal of the final production vehicle, the teaser does reveal a big change in the design. The rear roofline is rakish and the body line

Infiniti To Reveal M at Pebble Beach

The Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance auto show is getting some very high profile introductions this August, in addition to the classics the show is famous for. Bentley already has announced that the new, unnamed "Grand Bentley" will be making it's debut at the show.

Now, Edmunds Inside Line reports that another automaker, Infiniti, will be making a showing as well with it's next-generation M sedan. But, the "reveal" won't be in the way you normally think of - Infiniti will be going about it very differently.

Kyle Infiniti's senior manager of product communications, is the one who told the information to Inside Line. "The car will look like it is actually there. It will be full-size, and, if you didn't know it was a virtual mapping, you would think

Bentley Arnage Teaser Released

A new Arnage is coming and Bentley wants to make sure you're ready and waiting for it. Called (but I'm sure just tentatively) the Bentley Grand, a new teaser of the range-topping car has been released. Obviously as it is a teaser not much is shown, and the picture is in very low light. I assume we'll slowly see more and more of the car as it's August Pebble Beach Councours de Elegance debut date draws near. From what I can tell from the picture though is that it will be staying pretty close to the tried and true, time tested Bentley style. Who expected anything revolutionary? The new Arnage will be significantly different but not ground-breaking for the brand in the way that the new XJ is
