MBCLS63AMGInmotionRed

The Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG has gotten its online reveal, and we're liking the new super sedan. It follows the trend of recent Mercedes models by offering more for less. As in, more power with less displacement and increased fuel economy. The CLS63 ditches last year's naturally-aspirated 514 horsepower 6.3-liter V-8 for a twin-tubocharged unit making 557 hp. Fuel efficiency gets an increase as well, to the tune of 32 percent. The CLS63 AMG will always be about performance though, and this new video from Mercedes shows the car in action out on the road and around the track. Check it out below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va8RFux4kGY

Mercedes-Benz Overtakes Lexus in Sales Race

Last year a big topic in the automotive industry was the sales race for the top-selling luxury brand in the United States. Lexus, which has reigned at the top of the charts since 2000, got a run for its money throughout the year from BMW. In 2009, sales were dropping across the board, but it was about who declined the least, capturing a larger market share. This year, while the economy at large has yet to roar back, luxury car sales are on the upswing. It was clear that there was some underlying issues with Lexus last year. Normally, Lexus was far ahead of the competition in sales, but declines at the brand in 2009 were pretty steep. This year in market share it looks to be losing

There are exceptions to that, like Ford's recent Explorer launch, which was a brilliant marketing campaign. However, leaks and Mercedes-Benz are pretty synonymous. The recent CL AMG line, as well as the CLS, were all leaked out well in advance of release. Now, Mercedes has made the CLS official, and here is the lowdown. In its press release, Mercedes trumpets the fact that it was a "whole generation" ahead of the competition with the CLS. Since introduction, over 170,000 examples have been sold. Beijing 2010: Updated Maybachs

If you aren't yet convinced that Beijing is the new place to launch the world's most decadent new luxury sedans, is this enough evidence? While Rolls-Royce and Bentley, owned by Volkswagen and BMW, have been very successful, Maybach, owned Mercedes-Benz, hasn't met the same success. There have been many reports that the brand would be cut, but it doesn't look like that is the case - yet. Besides, the segment is highly lucrative - we guess that they'll give Maybach another go with a new model. For a company like Mercedes that has a lot of pride, it would be a deep blow to exit the high-end market and acknowledge failure. Mercedes needs a competitor to Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The exterior of the Maybach range benefits from a new
