Lincoln MKX Spied with Interior Shots

Lincoln's one and only crossover, the MKX, has been spied testing again. This time the interior has been caught as well, in full view. The current MKX is somewhat of a styling anomaly for the Lincoln brand, not exhibiting a familial design language shared with the current products in the Lincoln stable. It certainly does show cues from classic Lincolns like the 61' Continental but the brand is no longer moving in that direction. This Mid-Cycle Enhancement (MCE) will change that, helping Lincoln bring the MKX in line with the rest of the lineup, as well as improving it's competitiveness in such an important market segment. The Lincoln MKR concept has set the stage for the future of the brand's styling and the MKX is going to adapt to that. I must say I'm not

Lincoln MKS EcoBoost Pricing Announced

The starship gets a horsepower upgrade! If anyone has seen Lincoln's recent commercials, you'll know what I'm talking about. The much-vaunted EcoBoost system has finally arrived at Lincoln in it's first application, the MKS. Ford is banking on the EcoBoost System to help it deliver on its fuel economy targets. The technology is quite amazing, providing that V8 power and V6 fuel economy. That is a point Lincoln emphasized heavily in it's press release for the MKS, stressing that V8 power has finally come to Lincoln's flagship model. The EcoBoosted MKS provides 355hp, definitely at a great level if it wants to be considered as a V8. The technology is quite impressive, seeing duty next in the Lincoln MKT Crossover and Ford Taurus SHO. Interesting fact: the EcoBoost engine in the MKS is the first direct

Lincoln MKZ Gets IIHS Top Safety Pick

Wow, good news for Lincoln's updated  MKZ! The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently did a round of updated testing on all the latest crop of new vehicles. The Lincoln MKZ and Mercedes-Benz R-Class were particular bright points. This is surprising! The original car, based off the CD-3 platform that underpins the Fusion and Milan, was the Lincoln Zephyr. When tested by the IIHS, it performed merely acceptable overall and in the head on tests. Ford then made some changes and requested a retest as the MKZ. It fared good in those tests, but it's still surprising to see the car go from relatively unexceptional in terms of crash test ratings to an IIHS Top Safety Pick. The Lincoln MKZ and Mercedes-Benz R-Class received good ratings

2011 Lincoln MKX Spy Shots

The car site LeftlaneNews has caught pictures of Lincoln's facelifted MKX Crossover testing. While camouflaged, we still get an pretty good idea of what they're planning. No huge changes, just a nice update to bring the MKX in line with the rest of the Lincoln lineup and it's new look. That's the current MKX, released only in 2007. It's good to see the quickness in doing an update. Lincoln is staying on top of successful products and keeping them fresh, unlike before (remember the LS?). I like the design of the current MKX, I thought it was a unique design at the time. It's clear though that Lincoln design has changed significantly since then. The boxy headlights and 1960's Continental-like grille have been replaced with a sweeping waterfall

Detroit 2009: Lincoln C Concept

Whoa, a turboed 4-cylinder Lincoln! File this one in the "strange but true" category!  Lincoln has debuted their take on a small C-segment luxury vehicle and it turned out surprisingly good. Could it be a preview of what's to come? Even 5 years ago, a concept like this would have been unheard of from Lincoln.  How times have changed!

Amazingly, designers were able to make Lincoln design work on a vehicle of this size. Designers have took traditional Lincoln cues like the full-width taillights, thick rear C-pillar and 1961 Continental-like suicide doors and integrated them into a very untraditional package.   That's no small accomplishment, considering the diminuitive proportions of the C Concept. According to Lincoln, the C Concept is based on the platform underpinning the next Ford Focus, but

Detroit 2009: Lincoln MKT Crossover

Approximately 3 people were stunned by the surprising debut of the Lincoln MKT crossover vehicle at Cobo Hall today.  The long-expected Lincoln lux version of the Flex crossover vehicle is pretty much what you'd expect: a nicer, arguably prettier version of the Flex, which is already a pretty nice vehicle. The Lincoln's biggest distinction is it's smoother, less sharp-edged styling.  The MKT gracefully integrates some of Lincoln's  new stylistic elements, including the massive twin wing-shaped chrome grills.  Around back, the full-length LED taillight visually breaks up a large flat space and provides a bit of eye candy. The MKT is a mixture of soft, organic curves and some strong character lines - this is what makes it look so different from the Flex, even though they're mechanically identical.
