Lexus Opens Dedicated European Sales Center for LFA

I can sort of get the idea behind this, but it also strikes me as being sort of odd. As most of you know out there, Lexus rolled out their LFA Supercar a little while back. Great car, no two ways about it. Lots of tech goodies, tons of power and torque, performance that is impressive, and you know they'll sell all 500 of them in a New York minute. And yeah, since they are fast, exclusive and expensive, the clientele are not the sorts to just walk into Big Eddies Lexus and Bait Shop and buy one. Oh no, these sorts are going to want to fawned over and treated like The Kings (or Queens) Of The Known Universe that they know they are. They're

150 Lexus LFAs Coming to The U.S, Some Info on Leasing Prices

Yesterday, it was revealed that Lexus would only be leasing the LFA in order to circumvent speculators looking to buy the car and sell it for more. There was a few different questions that came along with that - like, how much would it cost to lease the LFA? Out of the planned 500-unit run, 150 LFAs will be heading to the United States and 10 to Canada. No LFA will be built unless it is ordered - Lexus has already began accepting "purchase applications" for the car in October. They are also designating 15 Lexus representatives trained specifically to handle LFA customers. Those representatives will be stationed in Lexus' four U.S regions: West, Chicago, New Jersey and Atlanta, as well as Lexus' headquarters in California. LFA

Lexus to Lease LFAs to Thwart Speculators

Like it, hate it, or somewhere in between, the Lexus LFA has no doubt caused a big stir since arriving on the automotive scene. It has been expected for a long time, with multiple concepts heralding the arrival of the production vehicle. It is nice, but $375,000 nice? No - I think self-imposed 500 unit run by Lexus had more to do with the limited amount of people interested - we'll see how quickly the 500 unit run sells out. Regardless, with an anticipated vehicle like the LFA there is bound to be some speculators looking to make a profit. The way Lexus is planning the launch, no LFA will be built unless it is ordered specifically. Brian Smith, vice president of sales and dealer development

Lexus Might Offer Track-Focused LFA

With it's (very) long-awaited debut coming just last week, reviews of the Lexus LFA are popping up at some of the online car blogs, and Autoblog got it's review of the LFA up today. The most interesting part of it all though is the conversation they had with Paul Williamsen, the National Manager of Lexus College about future plans for the LFA. According to Williamsen, Lexus is considering the prospect of offering a track-focused, decontented LFA. While the car is already lightweight (checking in at 65 percent percent composite, 35% aluminum)  the special model would take things even further while also adding features more suitable for the track. It's unclear if any of the powertrain components would be changed with such a model as well. This

Tokyo 2009: Lexus LFA

The dire global economy has resulted in many global automakers pulling out of the Tokyo Auto Show. This has proved to be a boon to home country manufacturers like Honda, Subaru, Nissan and Toyota who have the show all to themselves. There's no doubt who this show was all about though - clearly it has been Toyota. The company was eager to show off a different, performance-centric side with the Toyota FT-86 Concept and the Lexus LFA (no longer titled LF-A with a hyphen, Lexus says). Is the LFA everything it has been heralded to be - will it inject excitement into Lexus? Let's find out! After what seems like an incredibly long wait, starting with the original LF-A Concept in 2005, following with the second in 2007 and
