Lexus to Lease LFAs to Thwart Speculators

Like it, hate it, or somewhere in between, the Lexus LFA has no doubt caused a big stir since arriving on the automotive scene. It has been expected for a long time, with multiple concepts heralding the arrival of the production vehicle. It is nice, but $375,000 nice? No - I think self-imposed 500 unit run by Lexus had more to do with the limited amount of people interested - we'll see how quickly the 500 unit run sells out. Regardless, with an anticipated vehicle like the LFA there is bound to be some speculators looking to make a profit. Lexus Might Offer Track-Focused LFA

With it's (very) long-awaited debut coming just last week, reviews of the Lexus LFA are popping up at some of the online car blogs, and Autoblog got it's review of the LFA up today. The most interesting part of it all though is the conversation they had with Paul Williamsen, the National Manager of Lexus College about future plans for the LFA. According to Williamsen, Lexus is considering the prospect of offering a track-focused, decontented LFA. While the car is already lightweight (checking in at 65 percent percent composite, 35% aluminum)  the special model would take things even further while also adding features more suitable for the track. It's unclear if any of the powertrain components would be changed with such a model as well. This

Tokyo 2009: Lexus LFA

The dire global economy has resulted in many global automakers pulling out of the Tokyo Auto Show. This has proved to be a boon to home country manufacturers like Honda, Subaru, Nissan and Toyota who have the show all to themselves.
