One of the best launches at the 2011 IAA Frankfurt Motor Show in my humble opinion was the unveiling that Land Rover put on for the extremely large crowd of journalists yesterday in Hall 5. Many images surfaced over the past few weeks of a concept vehicle designed to put the popular but dated Defender edition back into production and everyone finally managed to feast their eyes on real-life prototypes at the Show. At the beginning of the month, Land Rover released more details about its new Evoque crossover. They include its starting price - $43,995 for the four door model, and the 28 MPG highway figure for the front-wheel drive model. That makes it the most fuel-efficient Land Rover ever - a huge departure, no doubt. Land Rover certainly has no inhibitions about being different with the Evoque. Land Rover has officially released details on the upcoming Range Rover Evoque 5 door ahead of its live preview at the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month. This comes after the recent press release photos of the car at the Paris Motor Show 2010 where Land Rover showcased the 3 door version. Being the 5 door version of the good looking 3 door Evoque it shares the same good looks. If it seems like we've been hearing about the Aston Martin One-77 for a long time, that would be correct. Aston Martin has been teasing and showing off the supercar for what seems like ages. And the kicker? It still isn't even out yet. Aston isn't done with the information trickling out yet either. They've introduced a new video as part four of a series on the car. Yesterday, the production Land Rover LRX was caught testing. Since last September, production of the LRX has been confirmed by Phil Popham, Land Rover’s managing director. The concept was introduced at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. Mind you, the LRX moniker hasn't been confirmed - Land Rover has yet to officially confirm that name. The Land Rover LRX Concept that debuted at the North American International Auto Show in 2008 has a lot of fans (I'm one of them). But as sometimes can be the case, the vehicles remain concept-only regardless.
