Cadillac To Reenter SCCA World Challenge

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Race Car

Cadillac and competitive racing are perhaps not two words that are normally associated with one another. However, the brand has participated in the Sports Car Club of America World Challenge in the past. And it did so quite successfully in fact, winning the Manufacturer's Championship in 2005 and 2007, along with the Driver's Championship in 2005. The brand's current CTS-V series lineup has been critically lauded for its performance chops. While the V-Series has been phased out on the outgoing STS, for the CTS it is alive and well with a full lineup that includes CTS-V Sedan, Coupe and Wagon variants. The CTS-V billed as the world's fastest production sedan. How's that for a performance Cadillac? With these capable performance vehicles, Cadillac announced a

Cadillac CTS Coupe, V Pricing Announced

Cadillac's stunning CTS Coupe was introduced in concept form at the 2008 North American International Auto Show and was quickly approved for production. For the current generation of the CTS, Cadillac is doing it right with multiple variants - sedan, coupe and wagon. Not only that, the highly regarded V performance series is available on each of the three model variations as well. With the Coupe on its way to showrooms in August, it was time to release pricing. The standard car comes in at $38,990, and the performance V model at $62,990. Do want. While the Cadillac lineup is a bit of a mess in terms of product positioning and focus, there is no doubt the allure of the CTS Coupe (and sedan as well) remains strong. The

VIDEO: Cadillac CTS-V Coupe

The North American International Auto Show has been wrapped up (for the press anyway), and perhaps the most exciting announcement to performance enthusiasts was the introduction of the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. There was a bit of wondering about whether a V model was coming (not for long though) but it is here, and yes it is production! James covered it when it broke cover before the show. Now comes the video that was used at the car's ear-drum blasting introduction. Check it out below! httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RudSMKENQk

VIDEO: Cadillac CTS Coupe Driving Footage

While Chevrolet gets a lot of the attention with the new Cruze and Volt, Cadillac's big introduction at the Los Angeles Auto Show was the CTS Coupe. It was shown to journalists yesterday in a special event ahead of the start of the show. Some great live pictures of the car can be found on GMInsideNews. While I can't say the same for the rest of the lineup (FWD SRX, FWD XTS - I'm looking at you), Cadillac is making smart decisions with the CTS - introducing a coupe and a wagon for this generation to complement the sedan. Also, a CTS-V Coupe and CTS-V Wagon have been confirmed - satisfying those looking for the performance of the V across the lineup. The CTS Coupe

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe Spotted

With the latest generation of the CTS, Cadillac has set forth on expanding the model lineup to it's proper size. While the first-generation was successful in revitalizing the brand, the sedan model wasn't followed up with coupe, convertible or wagon models. Successful companies create strong brands and models, then build off of them. The CTS is an impressive product, and this time it is being followed up with a coupe and wagon. Convertible? Maybe they're saving that for the third generation. Regardless, right now the news is about the V performance models. The CTS coupe isn't even out in full force yet and spy shots are already surfacing of the V model testing. The CTS-V sedan has acquitted itself very well against peers and is an excellent model. Given the capability of

Lutz: CTS-V Coupe Coming

While Bob Lutz dashed a lot of hopes about a RWD Chevrolet Caprice sedan, he did offer an important confirmation of new product for Cadillac. The CTS is one of the most impressive vehicles in it's segment, and the V-Series performance version has been billed as the world's most powerful performance sedan. Until recently (and it isn't confirmed for certain as of yet) it has held the title for world's fastest production sedan around Germany's Nurburgring race track. With variants of the CTS sedan complete, a coupe CTS is going on sale next year, after being shown at the Detroit Auto Show in concept form. With the incredible performance capabilities of the CTS-V sedan, why not extend that to the coupe as well? It deserves it! Despite the seemingly obvious answer to us, it wasn't certain whether or not the model would

Cadillac Developing Model to Slot Below CTS

One of the guaranteed (well, anything's possible but...) brands to remain regardless of what happens with GM would be Cadillac. GM's iconic brand is most definitely pivotal to the future of the company. With just 4 brands, there is the potential Cadillac could get the much-deserved investment that it needs to move forward. Think about it, 8 brands? Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Hummer, Saab, Saturn. That's a lot of different product strategies and development dollars to spread around. With 4 brands and 3 really (GMC can do a lot of sharing with Chevrolet) with unique products, this could be a could time for Cadillac. The CTS mid-size sedan has been successful but it's clear something needs to be done to expand the brand's model lineup and

Production Cadillac CTS Coupe Revealed

Reveals continue on pouring on in, this time from General Motors. Hidden inside the corporation's 122 page "Viability Plan" submitted to the U.S  Treasury is an production image of the highly anticipated Cadillac CTS Coupe. The thinly-disguised CTS Concept car from the Detroit Show pretty much showed us exactly what the production version would look like. The question was how much would be changed as it translated into production. As hoped, very little has been changed in fact from the concept vehicle. The CTS's angular Art & Science style carries over very well onto a coupe body. I still love that fastback rear end! So far, these "Viability Plans" have been quite revealing as to future products and plans for the companies involved. America's Big 3 are putting everything forward in aim of proving future
