Audi A8 Launch Coming on November 30th

We've been hearing about the introduction of a new Audi A8 for a while. The last time anything official came from the automaker, it was in the form of a teaser for the A8 in July, around Audi's centenary celebrations. Originally, the A8 was planned for a launch at this past Frankfurt Auto Show. Continued good sales of the current model helped pushed the car's launch back a bit. As expected, the new A8 will be launched at its own event, much like Jaguar did with the XJ in London earlier this year. Audi is coinciding the reveal as part of "The Art of Progress" event taking place in Miami Beach, Florida. The actual introduction will be taking place inside of the Audi Pavilion, a temporary structure

Audi A8 Teaser Released

Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7-Series, Audi A8 - only with it's current generation did the A8 really get put into the same league as these industry leaders. Audi wants to take things even further with this next generation of the car. As I've reported earlier, the A8 has been delayed a bit. Originally, an introduction date for the Frankfurt Auto Show was planned. Now it has been pushed back later than that, most likely debuting at an event of it's own. Seems like Audi is planning something similar to Jaguar's exclusive London launch event for the XJ. Makes a lot of sense - why not get the spotlight for yourself when introducing a major new product? Audi's chief designer Stefan Sielaff had some interesting things to say about

Audi News: A1, A2, R8 Roadster?

Audi is coming off a record year in 2008, with over 1,000,000 cars sold for the first time. While the company is likely to give up those gains this year, the brand is poised for more success in the future. The goal is for 1.5 million units by the year 2015 or 2016 (originally the goal was 2015 but they delayed it by a year just recently). With that in mind, Audi is working on expanding their lineup with a lot of new models, and is trying to play every release for maximum sales. Cadillac needs to do the same thing; right now their lineup is looking pretty bare. Some of the all-new models and model lines to be released include the A5 Sportback, A7 Sportback, R8 Spyder, Q3 Crossover, A1, potentially

Next-Generation Audi A8 Delayed

The current Audi A8 has been a pretty good success story for Audi, recognized among the motoring press as a legitimate alternative to the perennial class leaders the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7-Series. As part of the next-generation of it's design language and a look at the brand going forward, Audi was set to introduce the next-generation A8 at the upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show in September. As I've been saying for a while, that show promises to be chock-full of important new releases. I'm really looking forward to it! The A8 is currently selling well in some overseas markets and has garnered a strong following in Europe and China. Why not delay release of the car a few months so you don't kill all sales of the
