Porsche 911 Speedster May Make Return, Ferrari 599 GTO Pictures

Throughout the Porsche 911's history, there has been remarkably little change to the basic formula. And for good reason - the 911 doesn't need to be revolutionized. We like it the way it is! That doesn't mean there can't be some unique variations of it though. Auto Express says a 911 Speedster is in the works, based off information from a Porsche document the magazine obtained. It supposedly revealed detailed Porsche product plans until 2012. The 911 Speedster model would pay homage to the classic 356 Speedster, with a limited run of only 100 units at a price of around $300,000 (£200,000) each. As far as design, there will be a cut-down windshield, wider bodywork and oversize rear humps for what will be a strict two-seater. When

VIDEO: Ferrari 599 HY-KERS

We said the green revolution was touching everybody when Bentley announced it would be offering flex-fuel capability across its lineup, but how much more so with Ferrari and a hybrid system (!). A hybrid from Ferrari has been rumored for sometime though, revealed in patent drawings and in the goals of the brand to increase fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. The Ferrari 599 HY-KERS, a "veturra laboratorio" as Ferrari calls it, does just that. KERS stands for Kinetic Energy Recovery System, which captures energy under braking. The 599 HY-KERS uses a version of the system used in last year's Formula One program, adapted for use on the road. It creates over 100 horsepower and even offers an all-electric mode at low speeds, increasing efficiency by 35%. To demonstrate

Official Pictures: Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE

Ferrari's range-topping supercar, the 599 GTB Fiorano, leaves very little to be desired. It has a massive, 612bhp V12 up front, two seats in the middle, and the driven wheels in the back.  That's oversimplifying things, but in my estimation it's probably the best overall roadgoing automobile you can purchase today.  But like anyone, Ferrari is unable to just leave well enough alone, which is why they've introduced the 599 GTB Fiorano HGTE. HGTE stands for Handling GT Evoluzione, and that basically means that the HGTE is the slightly more hardcore version of the "regular" 599, if such a thing exists.  The idea behind the HGTE is to make the 599 more involving for the driver, as well as increasing it's agility and grip.  They've put out

Geneva 2009: Ferrari 599XX and 599 GTB HGTE

Ferrari's top of the line production car, the 599 GTB Fiorano, is gaining two new variants this year, the HGTE (Handling GT Evoluzione) package and the 599 XX production racecar. The HGTE package is a reworking of the 599's rolling stock and suspension, meant to increase responsiveness and handling limits for people who like to actually drive their Ferraris.  Suspension changes include stiffer spring rates as well as a larger rear anti-sway bar.  The Maranello magicians have fiddled with the settings on the magnetorheological shock absorbers to provide stiffer damping when the Manettino is in the race setting. Other tweaks include recalibrated engine and transmission controls for even faster shifts in race mode, as well as faster throttle response.  20" split-spoke wheels, a matte-black rear diffuser, a
