Senner Tuning Nissan 370Z
Oh look, it’s another tuning job … wait, this one’s different. It’s a German tuning firm, Senner Tuning, but rather than having a go at a BMW or a Mercedes, Senner decided to update and upgrade Nissan’s 370Z. Naturally there’s a ton of tuning option for the latest Z-car out there from the car’s home market of Japan, let’s see what a German firm thinks the right mods for a Z should be.
The mods that Senner Tuning has performed on the 370Z aren’t that crazy. Senner has added a new sport exhaust system and a sport air filter that increases the 3.7-liter V6′s output from 331HP to 352HP, which isn’t bad. Senner also added an adjustable coilover suspension sourced from KW. The new shocks and springs lower the front end by up to 45mm and the rear up to 50mm. Senner also gives your choice of two different set of 20-inch alloy rims. Either option comes mounted with Vredestein tires, 245/35 R20 up front and 275/30 R20 at the back.
Senner Tuning plans more upgrades for the 370Z before the end of the year. They’re looking at a carbon fiber bodykit that will feature front and rear aprons, side skirts and a rear wing as well as a more powerful mods for the engine.
So, it’s all pretty standard stuff, but here’s my take: The car is still ugly.
Yes, I know, everyone says the 370Z (and the 350 before it) are really good performers, but the styling just never worked. The proportions of major masses are just off, and the detailing makes you want to look away from the details. On the inside it’s always been an ergonomic nightmare; half of everything is too close, and the rest is too far away.
I’ve had friends rave about the way the car handles, and performs in general. They say the new tranny is amazing, and when you consider the price of the car in relation to what it can do over the road, the 370Z should be on everyone’s short list. But it’s not on mine.
And what Senner has done, and aims to keep doing, puts it even further down on my list. The design flaws are major, and can’t be worked around via the aftermarket, and those wheels? Please …

“Zed” tuners are a dime a dozen. Take a solid, popular platform, apply basic performance theory, install intake, exhaust, and wheels, PROFIT. The really exciting tuner shops are doing something outside the box. Beyond what HKS, GReddy, Turbonetics, and Nismo are doing.
But pay me no mind. I don’t get excited about 1000hp Supras or the chilly new Skyline either. I’m all about originality. That said, the new Z is fawking hot and these cats have done it right. Nearly 400hp from a mild upgrade package and very well-chosen rolling stock. It’s a looker.
Man I do not know if your eyes are ok or not and you may want to have them checked out, because the 370Z is a hot hot hot car. I prefer it over the massive GTR! Put the same amount of money you did into the GTR as you do the Z and the Z will rape the GTR every single time! The wide ass of the 370z is sexy! The car is a performer in every single way.
