Lotus Evora Pricing Announced

Lotus is busy making plans to reenter the exotic car market with the possibility of a new Esprit supercar. Before that though, Lotus has to tend to its latest launch, the Evora. The Evora is a step further into the exotic direction for Lotus, slotting above the Elise.

The Lotus Evora has already gone on sale in the United Kingdom and some other European markets, and production for those markets has already been started.

Production for North America is due to start soon, and Lotus reports that the first two months of Evora production have already been sold out. That is before any promotion here (the Evora has only been here twice).

That is going to change though with a U.S promotional tour that begins this Friday, November 13th. Two Evoras will go on an “Open House Tour” of 44 dealers around the country. Now for the details though. As expected, the Evora is powered by a Toyota 276-hp 3.5-liter V-6, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Lotus says the Evora is the only mid-engined 2+2 in production. Pricing for the Evora starts at $73,200. Rumor has it the car will get to 0.60 in 4.9 seconds, with an EPA figure of over 30 mpg (!) on the highway. So what do you think – is the Evora worth it or not?
