Honda S2000 Concept Rendering
After Honda killed it’s unsuccessful S2000 sports car, a gap was left in the company’s line up that is yet to be filled. In addition, Honda Motor Co. has let it’s other sports car models, like the NSX over at Acura, languish without replacement. What”s up with that?
According to reports. Honda doesn’t have any plans to produce a next generation model of the S2000. That hasn’t stopped enthusiasts from dreaming or coming up with designs of what a new S2000 could be like though. One such person is Swedish designer Lars Martensson, who has created some amazing 3D designs of a new S2000.
Other than these designs, we know very little about his ideas for the next S2000 as far as acompanying information. I guess the technical details are up to us, right? The quality of the rendering, as well as design itself, is very impressive. While the production S2000 was actually very bland, this interpretation is much more unique, while still very Honda. If I was Honda, I’d be paying close attention.
Especially if Pontiac’s Solstice and Saturn’s Sky don’t find buyers that will keep them in production, there could be a opening in the market for a new low cost roadster. Without the Sky and Solstice, what is there, the Mazda MX5 Miata? Would be something I’d be considering if I was a decision maker at Honda.

That’s pretty slick, but I think the headlights and nose look R35 meets Evo X. Not really Honda, imo.
Nice body styling, but what Honda needs to focus on is developing a vibrant power-plant that provides no less then 320HP, in order to give the vehicle a competitive edge against the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
i would HARDLY call the S2000 “unsuccessful”, Tony. I mean, they sold it relatively well and basically unchanged for 10 years.
