A new Zagato is set to be introduced at the Geneva Show, and it’s a looker! Renderings and sketches have been introduced showing us a preview of the latest model to come from the coachbuild manufacturer.
Welcome back coachbuilding! The flexibility afforded by new technologies and processes have brought back the classic art yet again, and it really shows with cars like this new Zagato.
After recently debuting an altered Bentley Continental GTZ and collaborating with Spyker on the C12 supercar (an amazing vehicle), Zagato is ready to introduce an vehicle of it’s own.
For the Perana, the Italian coachbuilder is teaming up with Africa’s Perana Performance Group for a run of 999 vehicles.
The design is low slung and well proportioned. There is perhaps a bit too much visual clutter with all of the vents and scoops for my taste but it’s undoubtedly good looking.
The rear in my opinion is the best part of the car, as it is with the Bentley Continental GTZ (what is it with Zagato and good looking rear views?).
At a price of £50K-90K (Approx $70-120,000), the Zagato Perana Z-One looks to be an extremely good deal if true, espessially from a company like Zagato.
The Perana is RWD with an almost 50/50 weight distribution according to some reports. Rumor also has it that it will be powerd by a Corvette-sourced 6.2L LS3 V8 from General Motors producing at least 440 horsepower.
This has me wondering if the whole car itself is based on the Corvette? I find it hard to believe they could produce a car at this price point without a basis vehicle.
Anyways, we’ll find out soon enough at the Geneva Show!

I’m disappointed; no signature Zagato double-bubble roof??
Still, looks very pretty from the renderings. And having an LS3 makes everything better.

And for a modest $21,000 you could swap in an LS9…

or for 4k you could supercharge the LS3 and make more power
that LS9 crate motor is such a drastic waste of money. Just pick up an old LS1 for a grand or two, build it and supercharge it. 640bhp crank is nothing for a blown LS motor.

Either way this thing is going to be fast!
