Ford Pits Virtual Race Times Vs. Real Life

Ford has been meeting success lately, with an announcement of a profit and the Ford Fusion being the best-selling domestic car in the United States. They also have been doing some interesting videos lately, namely the Ford Taurus SHO versus Audi A6 4.2 FSI video that has caused a stir among CarThrottle commenters.

We recently reviewed the racing game Need for Speed: Shift here at CarThrottle and this promotional effort by Ford is timely. Does racing game skill translate to the track? As part of the 2010 Unleashed campaign, Ford put four long-time gamers against each other to see who got the best time in the Mustang on a virtual track in Shift.

Following that, the four gamers were put into a real 2010 Mustang around the same track. The winner is the one with the highest combined racing and real life track times. Sound interesting? Check out the video below.
