Fisker Karma Deliveries Delayed Until Q3 2010
Things have been going pretty well for Fisker lately – like bitter rival Tesla, the company has gotten loan guarantees from the Department of Energy to fund the Karma, and the company’s new low-cost car, Project NINA.
In addition, Fisker has secured a former General Motors manufacturing facility in Wilmington, Delaware. In comparison, Tesla is stillĀ readying an announcement on a production plant for the Model S.
In July, a date in mid-2010 for the Karma was announced, but a new date has been set at the Los Angeles International Auto Show that pegs deliveries for the car in the third quarter of 2010. That would be less than 36 months since the car’s debut at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, which is a pretty good turnaround time, especially for a small company.
Fisker isn’t making a big deal about the pushback, choosing to put it in a press release listing all of the notable achievements the company has achieved so far.
Some of those include over 1,500 deposits received, application for over 50 patents and the signing on of 42 U.S retailers, along with three European distributors. The delay isn’t a big deal right now (after all the Roadster was plagued with them) but hopefully Fisker will be able to deliver the car without any more of them.

Tony, great pic on the Fisker which is a pretty exciting Hybrid vehicle, which has posted some impressive some impressive times for a hybrid, 0-60 in less then 6 seconds and a top speed of 125 mph, and is actually pretty cool looking.

Thanks! It definitely is an impressive car – a hybrid, but still offers great performance, fuel economy and looks. I could see it doing pretty well!
