Iranian Designs Future Porsche Supercar

Porsche's styling on controversial vehicles like the Cayenne and Panamera has been loved by some, hated by others. Other than the 911, I'm not a fan of the recent turn in design direction that Porsche has taken. The Carrera GT to me was an example of an excellent supercar design that should have paved the way for future Porsches. Let's see what Iranian designer Emil Baddal's future Porsche supercar looks like. I like it when creative people step into offer their own interpretations of a design, like we saw recently with the Audi R7 Rendering. For a car in the supercar genre, it certainly is very different. Proportions wise and design wise it's unlike anything we have ever seen, while still remaining unmistakably Porsche in

Audi R7 Rendering

The recent Porsche-Volkswagen debacle has resulted in a high-concentration of brands under one roof, and luxury/performance ones at that.  Volkswagen, Audi, Lamborghini, Bugatti and Porsche are all under the same roof. How they will all be managed and what kind of sharing will go on will be interesting to see. A balancing act for sure! One thing that we have heard is that the new VW board has opted to axe the Porsche Cayenne SUV and recently-introduced Panamera. I remain highly skeptical about that possibility, but something that has been floated around is a high-end Audi based on the car's platform. Voila, Audi R7! The R7 would be a "4-door coupe" in the vein of the Panamera, Rapide and CLS, but with a different twist on the

Next-Gen Volvo S60 Rendered

A replacement for the aging Volvo S60 is coming. Volvo has already unveiled a dramatic new concept that previews the car's styling. Given that the car is supposed to be unveiled for model year 2010, it's surprising we haven't seen or heard any more about the vehicle. Broken embargoes - Volvo releasing images to quell the excitement surrounding the new 9-5? Nope. MotorAuthorityhas commissioned a rendering though that is supposedly a preview of the car to come. I'm not impressed - the S60 Concept's looks don't get watered down very well.  It somehow manages to look much less dynamic. I'll be disappointed if the S60 looks like this. Some cars just don't make the concept to production transition well, for Volvo's sake lets hope that doesn't prove

Do It Jaguar: XJC Coming?!

Jaguar is mounting a comeback, there's no doubt about that. The Jaguar XJ sedan just had it's official release in London a few days ago. And what a release it was! Jaguar's latest products the XK and XF are all very impressive but the XJ is the best yet. I really think it will put Jaguar on the map again in the upper segments that it hasn't been competing in for so long (think X-Type). With such an excellent product, Jaguar should capitalize on it to the fullest extent. That should include more variants like..... ....a Coupe! Jaguar absolutely needs to do this. It totally works, a British luxury Grand Tourer at it's finest! I could see a potential XJC even put up against the Bentley Continental

New Plymouth Road Runner Rendered

Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Chevrolet Camaro; three muscle cars that have been most commonly lumped together as competitors over the years. The Camaro's next-generation in particular has been rendered for years by enthusiasts eager to see the car be reborn to do battle against the Camaro. But, we're forgetting another muscle car-type vehicle that was in the mix: the Plymouth Road Runner. Could it ever be reborn again? Good luck, the chances of the Plymouth brand being resurrected are absolutely nil. But, that doesn't make it any less cool imagining what one could be like, does it? A year ago, magazine Mopar Enthuiast featured the Plymouth Road Runner concept on it's front cover. The design and rendering work was done by Austrian designer Michael Leonhard. Leonhard envisions a

4-Door Ferrari Rendered

Good design is good design, whether it's the latest and newest or not. Seeing the Muska Supercar led me to check out some of Krasnov Igor's work further and I came across his amazing intrepretation of a 4-Door Ferrari. I remember seeing the design when in it came out in September 2008 (before CarThrottle even launched) but completely forgot about it until now. So I thought it would be fitting to show everyone who might have missed it. Even though Ferrari's competitors are introducing 4-Door Sedans, Ferrari's CEO Luca di Montezemolo has taken a stand against any sedan during his leadership of the company. They'll make a hybrid but not a sedan. Umm OK; anyways, moving on. If they ever were to break that rule though, it needs to look like

Muska Russian Supercar Rendering

I always love posting about the latest designs and renderings from out there in the automotive world. Especially ones that are all-new, meant to show a completely different vehicle then we've seen before. One such designer is Krasnov Igor, a Russian designer. His latest creation is the Muska supercar. The Muska blends elements from a stealth jet fighter to create a modern supercar, kind of like Spyker does with it's designs, only they do them from a different era. Speaking of which, I wonder if we'll ever see a stealth-fighter inspired supercar Spyker? Maybe so. If Spyker needs some inspiration for one, it could do much worse then taking a long, hard look at the Muska. The Muska is nearly perfect in it's design and execution; something truly unique in

Alfa Romeo Milano 147 Rendered

I'm taking everything about Alfa Romeo and Fiat a lot more serious now that the company is purchasing Chrysler. I love Alfa Romeo's new styling language (who doesn't though?). It's simply amazing, and much different then the style Alfa Romeo had been pursuing prior to the 8C Competizione. The new look is spreading across the lineup and the next car to get the treatment looks like the replacement for the 147, called the Milano. Alfa Romeo is ditching the numerical designations for real names on all their next-generation vehicles. I think it's a good call! Definitely one handsome hatchback! Unmistakably Italian too. Sources at CAR stressed it was wide and low-slung; much different then the MiTo hatchback. Regardless, the new Alfa Romeo style seems to wear well on anything.

Porsche Panamera Cabrio Coming

Ah, the Porsche Panamera.  It seems to just be one of those cars that no one likes. To be honest, I've never heard anyone say the Panamera was good looking. I'm sure there are some out there, but I haven't heard from them. I'm definitely in that camp. If you're going to make a new car, make it look good. I will say one thing nice about the car; the interior is amazing! Very nice, Porsche really hit the ball out of the park with that one. Besides, history has shown us that enthusiasts aren't always right at gauging the hits so what do I know right? Anyways, it seems like some help could be on the way in the form of a Panamera Cabriolet. I know
