Camaro Convertible Confirmed

The Chevrolet Camaro has been (if you didn’t know that, welcome this planet we call Earth!) released, and as expected is coupe-only. With sports vehicles like the Camaro, companies usually opt to introduce the convertible later once the hype and interest subside.

However with GM’s financial condition and conditions around the Camaro uncertain, sources said a convertible model being produced was far from a lock.

Companies like Newport Convertible Engineering began designing an aftermarket convertible option to help take advantage of some of the demand until (or the thought being, if) GM produces one.

Well now GM has officially confirmed the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. But if you want one right now you’re going to be pretty disappointed – the convertible is set to be introduced in the second quarter of 2011. Man is that a wait or what – especially if you’ve been waiting for a Camaro period. I guess the aftermarket will have to do for those who can’t wait.

Pictures of the conversion still have yet to be seen – it’s going to be pretty interesting to see how the Camaro fares in the hand’s of NCE. Hopefully they can design one that looks good with the top up or down. We’ll see!
