I'd have to agree, James. That is the certainly the best thing GM's brought to market since burning through our tax dollars. Personally, if I bought one, I'd order up the Opel badges from Europe and ditch the Buick nonsense. It's an Opel, and that's why it's cool.

The funny thing is, the new, critically acclaimed Malibu is based on the same car! Pretty sure the Lacrosse is as well. Avoiding a brand on principle aside, isn't it funny (however perverse) that GM kills off multiple brands under the premise of recognizing that badge engineering has lead to their failure, yet now they have a solid THREE models in the US based upon this ONE Opel?

Suppose they had dumped Buick as well. They could now be offering this stunning sedan as the new Malibu with a super-premium trim level. They could save so much money through not having to re-badge an existing model into a Buick, and keeping the vehicle 90% identical to the Opel would mean reduced production costs as well.

They're still clueless dullards who make bland cars, imo. Opel has been carrying the company for the last couple years. The fact that they actually moved towards selling Opel off is proof enough for me that they don't know what they're doing.

In any case, the Insignia is sweet.
