Alfa Romeo 8C Spider is Priced
It’s amazing what one car can do! Alfa Romeo debuted the stunning 8C Competitzione for model year 2007 and it began a new era for the brand. Inspiration from that design is tricking down to the rest of that lineup, helping to take Alfa Romeo in an entirely different direction. MiTo, upcoming 147 replacement the Milano – they all came after the 8C Competizione.
To me it was a brilliant move – what better way to herald it’s return to the United States market and whet our appetites? And, not only that – it has immediately vaulted Alfa Romeo into the supercar category. An Alfa Romeo is on the list with Ferrari’s and Lamborghinis as cars people want – who would have thought that?
When it came out, the 8C Competizione was just begging for a beautiful convertible variant, and Alfa Romeo was happy to oblige. Nice way to extend the production run too. The hardtop 8C Competizione got a production run limited to 500 units and the same is true for the 8C Spider. Out of 500 being produced, an incredibly small figure of only 35 vehicles is slated for our market.
So this car will be extremely rare here (and indeed everywhere). To get your hands on one, you’ll have to cough up a good chunk of cash though – $299,000. Want more proof this car has done everything it was intended to do? Alfa Romeo will sell every single one of them no questions asked. The 8C line is an instant classic!

Tony, certainly this modern retro looking piece of art is destined to become an instant collector’s item. Some readers would get sticker shock when looking at the vehicles price, but when compared to other classics like a Rembrandt; will certainly continue to appreciate in value as it gracefully ages. I love the lines, especially the front grill, and side air scoops, which look totally awesome, the wheels are also way cool, and definitely compliment this piece of artwork.
If I had the cash, I would be on a plane to Italy TODAY to pay for one of those in full. No questions asked. I’d take turns driving it and the DBS.
The sound those things make! And to experience it in a drop top? Unreal.
Yeah it really is a piece of art Austin! If I was in the position to buy one I’d get one no question either. Not only for my own sake, but imagine this at Pebble Beach Concours 50 years from now? It will be a worth a ton! Beautiful car.
After having had the pleasure of driving the coupe, this is the ultimate. Bite the back of your hand gorgeous, and a soundtrack to stop the earth rotating.
Its beautiful, and I’ll take one in white.
If I had an 8C Spider, I’d build a house near a winding road through a canyon somewhere. Then I’d revel in the therapy provided by the sound of that thing compression braking into corners before howling through them sideways.
I think, in heaven, I’d be able to drive an 8C and a DBS AT THE SAME TIME.
